Postdoctoral Scholar (Computational Biology or Bioinformatics) at University of California San Francisco
This key position is focused on clinical and translational research in human subjects on the acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), a common cause of acute respiratory failure in critically ill patients. This position will be within a mature NIH-funded research group focused on delivering precision medicine to critically ill patients with ARDS. The candidate will work with the principal investigator to design clinical/translational studies of clinical and biological data from human subjects, independently carry out basic and advanced biostatistical analyses of clinical and biological data, write scientific papers summarizing the results of their analyses, present their work at internal and national/international meetings, and frequently collaborate and interface with trainees, laboratory scientists, and physician-scientists. The ideal candidate will have experience with latent class analysis or mixture models, machine learning approaches, cluster analysis, and analysis of genomic/transcriptomic data. Experience with microbiota analysis and with pulmonary and/or cardiovascular biology is a plus.
